State Testing
Smarter Balance Assessment Consortium (SBAC)
Throughout the year, teachers utilize the California Standards to build lessons and activities. Toward the end of the year, 3rd - 6th grade students at Esther Lindstrom participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress [CAASPP] State test. After testing, parents receive progress results from the State noting their child's progress toward mastering the California Standards. Below are resources that will provide more information regarding this annual process.

Student Practice Test for SBAC or ELPAC
English Language Proficiency Assesment for California (ELPAC)
Currently, the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) is the mandated state test for determining English language proficiency (ELP). It must be given to students whose primary language is one other than English. California and federal law require that local educational agencies administer a state test of ELP to eligible students in kindergarten—or year one of a two-year kindergarten program, also referred to as transitional kindergarten—through grade twelve.
